Guided by Student Support, Accountability, and Success

Kyle Jones is a lifelong Surrey resident, Education Assistant, and community advocate who is running for Surrey School Board Trustee because he believes every child deserves access to a high-quality public education and a school system that puts students first. He currently works as an Education Assistant in School District 43 and previously worked in the Surrey School District as an Integration Education Support Worker (IESW). Throughout his career, Kyle has worked directly with students requiring additional academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, giving him firsthand experience with both the successes and the challenges facing today's classrooms.

Beyond the classroom, Kyle has dedicated countless hours to advocating for workers, public education, and stronger communities. He serves as a Shop Steward with CUPE Local 561, an Executive at Large with CUPE Metro, and sits on the Young Worker Committees for both CUPE BC and the BC Federation of Labour. He is proud to have earned the endorsements of CUPE 728, representing the support staff of the Surrey School District, and the New Westminster & District Labour Council, reflecting the confidence that education workers and the broader labour movement have in his leadership and commitment to public education.

My Vision for Surrey

I envision a Surrey School District defined by transparency, accountability, and community-driven progress. I am committed to a Board of Education where parents, students, education workers, and Indigenous rights holders are true partners in every decision. By fostering a culture of respectful dialogue, I will ensure that trust serves as the foundation of our district's governance. As our city grows, I will be a relentless advocate for the funding and resources our classrooms deserve securing optimal staffing and robust support systems families can rely on. My priority is precise financial stewardship where every choice centers on the well-being and potential of the student. I am working toward a future where our schools are celebrated as vital civic investments, where every learner has the tools to thrive, and every worker is treated with dignity. With integrity and a focus on success, I will be the visible, engaged leader Surrey needs.
